Lydia’s Dedication

21 Sep

Today we had Lydia dedicated at our church. It was a very important day for us, more important for us than for Lydia as it is a way of declaring that we will do everything we can to direct Lydia towards Christ in hopes she will some day have a relationship with him.   As those of you who have been reading this blog know, she is normally a very content and happy baby. However, today she decided to show everyone at the church she is not always so content. She cried, or screamed, through most of the dedication. There were 5 other babies being dedicated as well, and aside from an occasional peep, they were all quiet.  Oh well. She still looked cute.

Nap time after the dedication

After the church service we all went over to Dustin’s parents for lunch.  It was a great day.  All my siblings and their families, my parents, Dustin’s grandma, a couple of his aunts and uncles and his mom were all able to be there!  Thanks to everyone for spending the day with us!

I didn’t get a chance to tell you this morning, but I hear that one of Tom Steller’s kids holds the record for the most/loudest screaming during a child dedication service, so don’t feel bad. 🙂
