Counting Down the Days

7 Apr

We’re down to the last couple weeks.  I was thinking the other day, that this baby could come tomorrow, or in a month.  Its hard not knowing.  Both Dustin and I are getting so excited to see and hold this baby.  The nursery is all ready.  The clothes are all washed and put away in the dresser.  We finally got a car seat this last weekend, so I think we’re all set!

I’ve been feeling really good.  Other than my enormous stomach and extremely swollen feet, I feel great.  Dustin has to help me put my socks and shoes on most mornings and I’ve been wearing lots of his clothes around the house.  You’d think they would make maternity clothes long enough to cover a pregnant belly, but they don’t.

I’m still planning to work up until the baby comes, although I have to admit, it is getting harder and harder to focus.

We’re planning to keep the blog up to date with info when the baby does come, so check back often.

6 Weeks to Go!!

8 Mar
Well, I’m officially counting down the weeks now. 6 weeks to go!!! That’s if this baby decides to come on time, which everyone keeps warning me it won’t. Oh well, I still like saying I have 6 weeks left! After we took this months photo we decided to compare it to the one we took the day we found out I was pregnant. Needless to say, it was a little shocking. I feel like I don’t even look like the same person. The sun tan has faded, my hair has grown and gotten thicker, and of course there is the large baby belly.
Things with the pregnancy are going well. The baby is incredibly active and its so fun feeling and watching it move. The doctor says its growing
at the perfect rate, not too big, not too small. Lets hope it stays that way.
The nursery is coming along. My parents are bringing the crib next weekend!! We also found a cute dresser for the room. Its the perfect height for changing diapers and has lots of storage. Its an antique that we found on Craiglist, and I really like it. I’ll try to get some pictures up once the crib is in the room. We don’t have any decorations yet. I’m waiting to get stuff until after the baby is born so we can make it more gender specific.

30 Weeks!!!

9 Feb

We’re at 30 weeks now! Its hard to imagine that 10 weeks from now (assuming the baby comes on time) we’ll be holding our little one!!! I can’t wait. I’ve been feeling pretty good, although it is getting harder to tie my shoes and roll over in bed. We’ve starting seeing the Dr every 2 weeks now. The appointments are usually short; measure my uterus, listen to the baby’s heartbeat, pee in a cup. So far everything seems to be going great. The heartbeat is strong and everything measures perfectly.

We’re still working on pulling together the nursery. As I mentioned it is painted, but it doesn’t have much in it yet. We found a cute glider on craigslist that matches the green in the room. My dad is making the crib and it will come in March! We still need to find a dresser, and then I think we’ll be pretty much set for furniture.

Baby Update

15 Jan
26 Weeks! I’m into my 3rd trimester now! I can hardly believe it. This pregnancy has been flying by. In a little over 3 months we’ll have a baby! Everything is still going fine. I feel great. The baby is sure a busy munchkin…it moves around a ton. We’ve started going to birthing classes, and I’m not sure if they are making more excited to have this baby, or more scared. Overall I think they’re really good, I’m just scared, as I’m sure most new mom’s are.
My mom said that in your 3rd trimester you start nesting….I agree. I have this urgent feeling to clean and organize everything. I started working on our office and our closet. (They needed the most help.) I also have all these ideas for things I’d like to start sewing for the baby. Blankets, burp clothes, and nursing covers just to name a few. I’ve been inspired by the Bebe Au Lait nursing covers and I’m going to try to make one for myself. I’ll take a picture if it turns out.

22 Weeks!!!

We had another ultrasound today!!  This is a 3D ultrasound of our baby.  (It doesn’t really have a hole in its head, it just looks that way because of how deep the ultrasound goes.)  The doctor couldn’t get the baby to roll over to get a full face shot, but isn’t it a cute profile!!!  There are more pictures on our flickr page.  The doctor measured about 30 different things and said everything looks great!  The baby weighs 15 oz.  We did not find out if its a boy or a girl, it will be a surprise.

I thought I was at 21 weeks this week, but apparently my math was off and I’m really at 22.  My tummy is really starting to grow now.  I feel like everyday it gets bigger!  I’m feeling really good though and starting to feel the baby move every once and awhile.

The picture of me above was taken in the baby’s room.  We decided to go green, and I really love the color.

17 Weeks!

15 Nov

We had our 17 week check up yesterday.  We got to hear our baby’s heart beat again!!  The doc says everything looks great.  We scheduled our ultrasound for Dec 12!!  Our clinic does the 3D ultrasound too, so we’ll get some great pictures!

There are so many things to think about when you’re having a baby.   What color should we paint the nursery?  What will we name the baby?  Will we be good parents?  Cloth verses disposable?  Are things really safe?  And the list goes on.  Most of the time I just like thinking about being a mom and having a cute little baby to take care of.  I’ve recently been thinking about my childhood and my dolls.  I loved dolls.  There were two cabbage patch dolls who got the most attention and love…Creamy and Kimberly.  (Not sure where I got the name Creamy from, but that was her name.)  I loved taking care of them, dressing them, changing their diapers, feeding them, and bringing them everywhere.  As a little girl I remember being so excited to be a mom someday.   Granted, the dolls didn’t really need to have their diapers changed, and they never cried, so I know there will be a big difference with a real baby, but I’m still so excited to be a mom.   23 more weeks, give or take until we have a baby of our own!  I can’t wait!!

Anna at 14 weeks

24 Oct

As of today I’m at 14 weeks and feeling great.  My belly is starting to grow and I can no longer button some of my pants! Even though I know my tummy is going to grow its still hard seeing it get bigger.  (And this is only the beginning!)  I went shopping for maternity clothes last weekend, and that was pretty fun.   Stretchy pants are soooo comfy! However I realized that maternity clothes are very expensive.  So I went onto craigslist and found a couple people selling their maternity clothes for really cheap.  I got some great stuff and saved a lot of money!  What a blessing!

Dustin and I have started thinking about our nursery and I think we’ve settled on green, but not exactly sure what shade yet.  My mom is going to make the crib bedding so we’ll pick a color to match it.
