A successful first craft show

21 Nov

Well, my first craft show was a success! Here is a photo of my table. There over 140 tables at the sale selling everything you can think of. I had so much fun and will be back next year! My biggest sellers were the ruffle scarves. (you can sort of see one of the green ones in the middle of the table.) I sold out before we opened the second day and then started taking orders. Let me know if you’d like one! I sold a little of everything that I brought, so that was nice. It was fun to do a little shopping while I was there too.

Our new bathroom

5 Nov

Our upstairs bathroom was the last room that still needed to be painted in our house.  I don’t have a before picture, but it was gray with oak colored trim.  I went to Bed Bath and Beyond to get a new shower curtain.  I was originally looking for something purple, but this one just jumped off the shelf at me.  (It is an Amy Butler design afterall. 🙂 )

The walls were temporarily a lime green color, but after one coat I decided that it was a poor choice.  Now its a cream color, and I’m really happy with it.  I also painted the woodwork white.  This wire design used to hang over our guest bed, but now it makes a prefect addition to the bathroom!

More distressing

3 Nov

After my success with distressing the table and chairs for the girls, I tried another project.  I found these unpainted shelves at Hobby Lobby this summer and I finally got around to painting them.  First I sprayed them black, then white, and then I sanded them to distress them.  I think they make a great addition to the old window that’s been hanging on the wall all by itself for at least a year.

Fall Decorating

29 Oct

I’ve had some fun doing a little fall decorating on our mantle.

My favorite part of this is the hurricane vases I made for $2 each!  I got the idea from My Blessed Life.  You can find a tutorial on her blog.  I’m already thinking of ways to use them for Christmas!
